How about training the KApa HAka group for the Blessing of the new admin block -Dan, are we going to invite Bish Pat? If we are - we should probably start thinking about dates..

Music lessons - Margaret Matthews - I think it is a good idea to have in school lessons as an option for parents. Margaret is keen and has purchased a keyboard to use with students at school. Not sure what other instruments she offers. Can she use the space which was Room 1a or alternatively another area? yes great idea I like the idea of her giving the children another aspect. Parents pay for this service which is up to them

Discuss the format for goal setting to hand out to teachers
(should we have a model of an appropriate goal. ie. I want to get a stanine 6 in PAT maths by learning how to convert percentages to decimals).
Data needs to be provided for each student to set goals from - data to use diagnostic test, PAT and STAR and AsTTle?
8 March 2009 Have been thinking about the blank wall of Room 7 facing the admin block, should we use Cashmen and Daniel's skills to put some sort of Pompallier Catholic School artwork on there? Could be a combination of some talented students work too....I guess we have about 5 weeks until opening officially - what do we think? Could also have a competition as to what students think would look good too? (KC posted) Where are we up to on this.
yesterday was a great day in your class Kathryn. We started this and you carried it on. From their ideas I will take some key children off from all classes and have this carried out at Lunch time I want it finished by end of term to be up by Term 2 DP
Didn't get very far with this at all Daniel - will make time again this week and keep you in touch, however we have got the material art for St Josephs Day too. Maybe my fast finishers can get back into it. Don't forget, you have my class again on Wednesday and you will have a slightly larger group? (KC 15 March)

Week 2 Term 2 6/5/09 A word from me I would like to thank you both for the excellent job you are both doing. It is not often that teachers are affirmed due to the nature of the job so take it in! The school has sound structure from the top and issues can be worked through with a strong team. Your ideas and thoughts are valued and appreciated. term 2 will be a long term due to the weather etc however if as a team we can keep doing what we are doing I am sure it will be a fruitful one. Ka pai Te Reo curriculum addition.
DP 22nd 7 09 Word from me This term is all about the Catholic Review. It is important that we get a sound report so that the school goes into the next ero with this as a base. All is good at school however there are some teachers that will need our reassurence that everything will be fine. I thankyou you both for your understanding on CRT release and being flexible around this. For thos two days the school needs to be a showcase of all that is catholic about us. We need to oozze the special character with the children being the cherry on top. I am not worried however it's about prep and all moving together from the top down.. Daniel

Please think about what we discussed this morning in regards the theme for 2010. It is really exciting when you think of the big picture stuff what we have acheived over the last few years and the space the school is in at the moment. DP
Do you not like my "SHINE" idea? hehe WWJD ? he was/is the LIGHT of the world - He can shine through/out of each one of us
we could shine in our mannners / shine in the way we learn, like a lighthouse showing others and ourselves the light at the end of the tunnel.../ shine in the way we speak to others , so that they can see the way Jesus showed us...get the idea? big questions - how did i shine the light of jesus today in relating to others? / how did I shine my light in numeracy - what did i "see" ? / who did i help in the way i shone my thinking skills? by the way - THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE is playing on a telecom ad on TV as i am writing this!!!!!! freaky! synonyms - how we see things / our vision / looking ahead / finding/ lighting a way through the murky patches in our learning - ...we could have quite a play on words! ...
S=smart,simple,special,etc
H= helpful, how can i, happy
I= i, intelligence, interested, inspiring
N= new, natural
E=excellence, excited, equal, everlasting etc
lots of ways to shine our lights for Jesus....
